A bold, balanced lot from the volcanic slopes of Mount Rinjani — natural-processed, sold green, grown by smallholder farmers building their own route to market.
“From the Sajang highlands with a bold yet balanced character. The natural process brings out sweet caramel notes, with signature Lombok spices and a lingering chocolate finish — perfect for those who love a medium body with a strong punch.”

Sajang Village sits on the eastern flank of Mount Rinjani — Indonesia's second-highest volcano — on the edge of the UNESCO-listed Gunung Rinjani National Park in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. It is a farming village in the wider Sembalun area, Lombok's best-known coffee belt, where households grow coffee alongside cocoa and vanilla on volcanic soil, largely by traditional, manual methods passed down through generations.
Coffee was first introduced to the Sembalun highlands in 1942. It remained the area's most valuable crop until the 1980s, when a national agricultural programme forced many farmers to switch to garlic instead. Coffee only returned at scale from 2013, when a local community formed a smallholder cooperative to bring farming back.
Sajang's coffee farmers are currently working to formalise their own cooperative, aiming to move from below-market pricing and thin distribution toward better prices and wider market access. Producers here were also among the first on Lombok to process cascara — dried coffee cherry husks brewed as a tea.
